Should I Be Using a Foundation with SPF?

I use Maybelline foundation—one with SPF and one without. How important is it to have a foundation with SPF? I've heard conflicting reports.

Well, consider: Nothing sends a pretty face skyrocketing toward Planet Prune faster than the sun. However, your makeup foundation—the stuff that's supposed to mask minor flaws and gloss over fine lines—may not be the best host for that SPF. "I recommend using a moisturizer with a sunscreen and then a foundation on top of that," says Dr. Stuart Kaplan, whose skincare line is a celebrity favorite. Otherwise, the pigments in the foundation can prevent the sunblock from connecting with the skin that needs it.
"Also, foundation with SPF tends to cake up on the face and highlight wrinkles," he says. (Writer's aside: Objection! The good doctor clearly has not tried Lancôme's Renergie Lift Makeup SPF 20, which is nearly religion in a bottle, what with how I seem to glow from within and such and … where was I?)
Besides, your options expand drastically if you leave the responsibility of sun protection with your moisturizer. And the best foundations out there—Lancôme notwithstanding—often don't have an SPF.

1. Hey style! I'm a middle schooler so my budget is budged at well $20? I shop at target, walmart, balah blah, the occasional fancy stores when I have gift cards and stuff. I mean how do I look fab but still not break the bank. I can go alittle over $20 but around that area. What to do?

2. For those of you interested in learning lots more about beauty makeup you should really consider buying TEMA (The event makeup artist). Its a really great in depth dvd about becoming a makeup artist for things like weddings. I really just wanted to know how to do great makeup for myself and friends. It's so clear and detailed its great. And for those of you out there who want to become a makeup artist it leaves no question unanswered. www.eventmakeupartist.com

3. what about using a tinted moisturizer with SPF? i don't need the heavier coverage of foundation, and i don't want to put on a zillion different creams every day to get the even skin tone and SPF!
